Our Mission
is to live out John 17 -
Jesus’ one prayer for all His people
Hostility
The Problem is not Divison
The Problem is
Hostility between followers of Jesus runs rampant.
We express contempt for one another from the pulpit.
Outbursts of anger explode on social media.
Even acts of physical violence are not unheard of.
The world watches and writes off our witness of Jesus.
Jesus’ answer to hostility is
Reconciliation
Reconciliation is a series of actions that
removes hostility in a relationship,
repairs the damage it caused,
and restores the God-intended unity.
The God-intended unity for His people is for us to enter into the unity of the Trinity!
Jesus made this clear in his one prayer for us, recorded in John 17:
I pray also for whoever will believe in me through their message, so that they all will be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.
May they also be one in us so that this world will believe that you sent me into this world.
At Christ the Reconciler, we are called to live out this prayer. Or more accurately - to strive towards living out this prayer.
We do this through five specific actions which form our way of life:
Prayer
Reconciliation
Formation
Hospitality
